Canon S110 with Wi-Fi & Touchscreen.

WI-FI and touchscreen in Canon's S110.---The 12 MP S110 is much awaited upgrade of S100.. The features in S110 are identical to S100, it adds Wi-FI AND AN ADVANCED TOUCHSCREEN that enables the identification of subjects by simply tapping on the screen. The camera will be made available by end of the year.

Nikon D5200, CMOS sensor camera.

Nikon is to introduce new D5200 dslr in near future. This camera has 24.1 MP, with a CMOS Sensor. The camera has 39 focus points and a 3 inch LCD screen with 921,000 dot pixels. This will give a good resolution in viewing the images.....Price and entry into market yet to be announced.

Tourist place Photograpy-an overview.

Generally people are in the habit of visiting tourists spots---some in holidays and some round the year or as the season suits them...For photographers it is more important...like a fish catcher...he sits long day with a nil net....Not so here for photo-enthusiasts...they generally catch the point with their watchful eye...because besides visiting the main interest places their main aim is to go with bundle of photographs.

2) Yea...since u are at the village,town or city, you will find photogenic subjects... Find the right place to shoot from...For example, some higher angle may help you to view a lot more than imaginable....Also not to forget ground level photography....this is mostly forgotten, as people are in habit of shooting standing, or sometimes on knees. Ground level shots are most difficult but with digicams having live view, it becomes somewhat easier....where u can sit, or in other cases u have to lie down....not a joke...hahaha....this angle very few try...may be or may not be in public places, but in parks it can do well......ANYHOW MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR VISIT....Many photographers think, they will come again, but never have opportunity to go back at that place.

3) Overall the weather is most important....India in one of the best countries for photography having sunlight round the year....So morning, noon and evening all are delightful for the camera....LET YOUR CAMERA ALSO SMILE....AND U WILL HAVE THE BEST OF PICTURES.......I mean keep all focal lengths you will require in one, two or three lenses...Keep the battery checked up and have one extra.  Now, how many GB cards you have with you.....Divide them into 2 GB cards each, so unfortunately if u miss one, there is still a lot with you.

4) Find out interesting subjects....it depends if you are in the middle of the market/town or on the outskirts of the place.....You shd be clever enough not to disappoint others by your camera's presence and take good pictures. Here your selection of lens will work.  like a kit lens and a 70-300 zoom for wide angle shots and telephoto shots of annoyed subjects.....To take better shots, allure the children and by angling towards them, you can take other good shots by going wide or zooming in.

5) Here you will be selective of DOF----when shooting landscape, people, buildings etc from the point of view of pictorial photography. In good light small aperture will do wonder and when u open to f3.5, increase the SS and decrease the ISO to minimum in ur camera.and when light is low using bigger aperture will limit the dof..rendering the best of results.......One lens I would recommend is 50mm f1.4 or f1.8 if possible. It is a good choice of many photography, controlling depth of field......So I have given some point while visiting tourist places....Just try and get more.....The above pic...1/500,f11,ISO 100.

Birds our of your home window.

Bird photographs may be a good inflow, if you have continuous watch around your home.....In flats, however, the areas are dry and difficult to attract birds....There should be good number of trees around your home, as the birds are human friendly....And shooting them from close distance may be possible...Your normal digital cameras with 4x zoom onwards may work good but for better photographs u may need a prosumer or a DSLR camera to have 200mm focal length or higher (as I feel)....In winter it is easier to find them during day time but in summer the creatures's visit becomes prominent in the evening when weather gets less hot...Otherwise, if you are an early riser the morning is best time as the birds too feel afresh in the morning as we do.

2)  Please help to keep the environment with more of the plants and trees saved from cutting/destroying for the sake of fulfilling our unwanted needs.....We will be losing the sight of birds if 'save the environment' attitude is not employed....Many birds are migratory and they come from long distances from other countries too.....If the authorities are helpful to make 'bird sancturies', there can be nothing better than that!.......The bird above needed an exposure of 1`/1000 at f8, ISO 200, with 70-300 zoom.....The image is cropped to bring out a better view of the bird....In front of the bird, I am sorry, there is the joint of cables.......Some photoshop expertise will set the cable right.

MOBILE PHONES V/S COMPACT CAMERAS...just read!

Well your mobile is your photographer.....There are lots of changes in quality in last two years in the pictures taken by smartphones because of increase in megapixels and the refined sensors rendering good images, leaving behind their cousins .....hahaha, yes the compacts, which were hitherto became a part of all affordable homes....in homes, picnics,travels etc. But the recent development in smartphones left the compacts behind reducing the sale of these cameras by 17 per cent. But still the DSLR, it may be natural, are the choice of all enthusiasts and the professionals....I feel, it will be futile to compare a mobile camera with a DSLR....DSLRs' sale has picked up......Oh, the mobile cameras also deterred the sale of camcorders. Many mobile cameras in video output are trying to produce the HD capability, which was generally incorporated in all types of digital cameras within last two years.... Camcorder's sale too reduced by 13%......The smartphones are cost effective too....With a 3.2 MP camera, the cost is nearly 3k, and for more MPs, pay more, with lots of handy features including the internet, the micro cards with videos and songs to pass your time in a better manner.....I do not advice the smartphone's anytype of use in 2 or 4 wheelers....there are sad incidents, both ears choked with the headphones and taking attention out of the roads.

NOW the choice is yours---smartphone,with a camera,  (a necessary inclusion in all good mobiles), compact cameras, though still better than the mobile phones....left on u......But as the above facts reveal, the trend is changing fast.

Nature Photography

(Photo by Surya Pareek at jjm.)That is all present here which makes a nice beginning in a forum and in shoot too....It takes courage and cleverness to catch the less seen birds beyond the city outskirts.....so naturally, urs is a very good shot......mostly in nature photography, besides the creature, the surroundings too help make the picture better....Nothing bad in the fourground, since it is a natural perch of the bird....

Different camerapersons find different or same birds, but with different situations, sites as is natural....this eagle will not sit on a electric wire and will find more secluded place which the different birds do not venture....As we differ naturewise so the birds, animals or any creature on earth differs. pl  carry on....I do agree on lens, but till it renders u sharp images it will work better in your hands. All the best.
